Leslie Cook

When Leslie benefited greatly from massage sessions during an injury recovery, she recognized her calling as massage therapist. Initially she dreamed of massaging horses, but in realizing how incredible human bodies and their inhabitants are, she fell in love with humans. At age 20 Leslie was the youngest massage graduate of her class in Aurora, Colorado, where she had moved to after graduating high school in Des Moines.

Some years later, in 1999, after becoming a mother, Leslie and her family returned to Iowa and she opened her private practice: The Magic Touch, a business that still provides services for both of her loves: humans and horses.

Leslie studied techniques for horses with Al Garcia, while advancing in human modalities like Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Pranic Healing and many more. She also incorporates Empathic Equine Experiences, aromatherapy, stress management, and nutritional wellness rounding up her holistic approach.

In overcoming physical and emotional trauma herself, Leslie is deeply grateful to be able to do what she loves and to live the way she likes. It motivates her in coaching others to live the life they love.

Leslie calls herself a lifelong student thriving on learning environments. Her own child has long become an adult and she says: “They have taught me more about moving through this life than I could have ever taught them!”

She treasures her family and her pet dogs and Thoroughbred horses, the latter are her ‘business partners’. Having ridden hunter jumper shows most of her life, and now enjoying dressage, horses continue to be a big part of Leslie’s personal life and happiness.

Seeing herself as a nurturer, mother, and empath, Leslie feels a strong drive to share, contribute, and educate. She looks at it as ‘bolstering’ others through challenges and being a tool on their journey to living a success and bliss-filled life.
