A passionate advocate for holistic healing, Tanaya brings her diverse background in cultural arts and specialized training in massage therapy to support clients through their reproductive and pregnancy journeys with empathy and expertise.
Naya is a first-generation Jamaican who spent her formative years in Texas and Iowa before making Philadelphia a decade-long home and eventually returning to Des Moines. With a rich background as a cultural performing and movement teaching artist, Naya focused on the Caribbean tradition of stilt walking. Her early experiences laid a foundation for a career that blends artistic expression with holistic healing.
Her academic journey includes studies in English and Performing Arts at Drake University, becoming a CAPPA Birth Doula and getting certified in Massage Therapy at Body Wisdom Massage Therapy School.
Naya's commitment to massage therapy is deeply personal. Living with endometriosis and fibroids has given her unique insight into the challenges faced by women with reproductive health conditions. This personal experience fuels her dedication to understanding the science of the human reproductive system and providing empathetic, individualized care to her clients.
Naya is passionate about guiding clients through every stage of their complex reproductive and pregnancy journeys or health concerns, offering nurturing and compassionate support within her private practice.
Her continuous pursuit of knowledge is evident in her dedication to research and ongoing education. Naya consistently develops and refines her skills to enhance the effectiveness of her massage and educational services. Her areas of expertise include Lymphatic Drainage, Maternity Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Positional Release, Reflexology, Pulsing, Thai Massage, Geriatric Massage, and LomiLomi, to name a few.
Community relationships are the cornerstone of Naya's personal life. She enjoys visiting her neighborhood library, spending time with her church community, listening to live music, and singing karaoke with her family.
