Position Overview This position is contingent on contract award, with an anticipated start date of 6/1/2025. The Aircraft Mechanic I will perform aircraft corrosion control and structural repairs, including washing, cleaning, corrosion detection, removal, metal treatment, and touch-up painting. Assistance in preparing aircraft and components for repainting is also required. SkillBridge opportunities are available, dependent on timeline. Responsibilities Strip, treat, and paint aircraft and parts according to technical manuals. Apply corrosion treatment and remove corrosion chemically and mechanically. Perform structural maintenance on and off equipment. Conduct aircraft washing. Inspect coating systems, perform repairs, and conduct corrosion control inspections. Work with minimal supervision. Detect, treat, and prevent corrosion. Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness, and safety at all times. Wear appropriate safety equipment during operations. Conduct on-the-job and proficiency training. Record maintenance actions in aircraft records and management systems. Operate portable fire-fighting equipment. Dispose of hazardous waste following regulations and policies. May perform special certifications, including Red X inspections. Provide on-the-job training and evaluate employee qualifications in coordination with supervisors. Assist other personnel and work centers as directed. Receive cross-utilization training and perform related maintenance tasks. Perform additional duties, including TDY and travel, as required. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent. Specialized related courses. Experience At least 1 year of recent experience in fixed or rotary-wing aircraft structural repair and corrosion control. Knowledge of corrosion treatment and prevention methods. Understanding of hazardous materials handling and disposal procedures. Experience with OOMA maintenance documentation is highly desirable. Licenses/Certifications Valid state driver’s license if required by the job. All necessary certifications to perform the job. Ability to obtain and maintain a flight line driver’s license. Current Secret security clearance. Skills and Abilities Promote company values and standards of conduct. Customer-oriented with professional coordination skills.
