We are the hiring authority for our client. Our client is a Durham-based nonprofit dedicated to fostering healthy and just communities by empowering people, improving places, and influencing policy. Through their property management arm, they oversee affordable multifamily properties to ensure safe, stable housing for the community.

We seek an Area Property Manager to lead our team, oversee operations, and help us continue delivering high-quality, mission-driven property management services .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead & Manage the Property Management Team (4+ team members)
• Oversee Property Operations , including leasing, compliance, maintenance, tenant relations, and financials
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance (HUD, LIHTC, NCHFA, North Carolina Real Estate Commission, etc.)
• Develop & Implement Best Practices for efficiency and team success
• Monitor KPIs, Budgets & Financials for each property
• Recruit, Train & Motivate Staff , fostering a positive and collaborative work culture
• Engage with Tenants & Community Partners to enhance resident experience
• Handle High-Level Issues & Escalations with professionalism and problem-solving

Who We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of residential property management experience
• Broker-in-Charge (BIC) or BIC-eligible in North Carolina
• Experience with affordable housing compliance (LIHTC, HUD, HOME, NCHFA)
• Strong leadership & communication skills to build and mentor a team
• Tech-savvy – Experience with AppFolio, Microsoft Office, Google Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Ability to handle after-hours emergency work orders as needed

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
