Job Description 

The Art Director will work with the Creative Director to develop and refine the creative vision for the A&F lifestyle brand. They will own the vision for our A&F e-commerce marketing content and guide the team responsible for its execution. This individual would be accountable for collaborating to create original branded content and ideas, along with fostering the organization and cross-functional partnership required to execute against the overall brand strategy. 

This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.

What Will You Be Doing? 

• Work closely with the Creative Director on the conceptual development and execution of seasonal editorial and e-commerce photography for the A&F brand, ensuring that all creative content aligns with the brand's guidelines and is consistent with the overall brand aesthetic – this includes casting, lighting design, set and prop direction, editing, color and post-production guidelines.
  • Build and present seasonal editorial direction and style guides for Abercrombie & Fitch and YPB brands, collaborating with broader creative team to ensure visuals and content are synergized, telling focused brand stories and fulfilling deliverables across all channels.
  • Manage all studio e-commerce photography, including shoot planning, on set management, casting, and final deliverable selects, partnering closely with studio photographers, stylists, and production teams. 
  • Art direct e-commerce and review daily edits from e-commerce teams prior to upload.
  • Collaboratively concept, direct and execute assigned in-house marketing and chase fashion shoots with styling and editorial ADs/ Creative Director.
• Partner closely with studio director and production teams to calendarize, schedule and staff studio e-commerce shoots and special projects, on time and within budget.
• Lead and empower studio team through roadblocks and unexpected problems, challenging the team to seek creative design solutions that advance our brand and speak to the customer.
• Understand current trends in social media, fashion, and culture – testing new ideas to further develop and advance the creative voice of the A&F brand.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively within the A&F organization, clearly and effectively presenting ideas and projects to cross functional partners and all levels of leadership.
• Evolve the brand handwriting for a new generation of consumers, building off existing brand foundation.
• Help to implement a creative organization that supports a content-led marketing strategy.
• Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

What Do You Need To Bring? 

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Photography, Advertising or related field required
• Minimum of 7+ years of art direction experience in fashion retail or related industry
• Experience working in an iconic, branded environment for an international organization
• Experience working with layout for print and digital media with and directing, training and guiding other layout artists and copywriters
• A strong eye for quality and trend as it relates to the Abercrombie & Fitch brands
• Experience managing and collaborating with large cross-functional teams
