Nationally recognized Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits in Logan Square is looking for a very eager, self-motivated, and good-natured human to work in our busy production bakery as we gear up for the holiday season. You will be responsible for preparing from scratch and baking sweet and savory pies, biscuits, cookies, and more for sale in our cafe, as well as for catering and wholesale accounts, special events, and fun collabs with other local businesses! Positive energy, respect for all, and an ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are a must, as well as weekend availability. Competitive hourly pay and pooled tips consistently average above $21/hour and will increase as we head into our busy holiday season! Pie Bakers will be expected to:
- Perform prep and baking tasks as assigned in a timely and consistent manner
- Work in accordance with all Chicago health standards and maintain a clean and organized work station
- Help keep bakery, walk-in, and food storage areas clean and organized
- Work with a sense of urgency and efficiency while maintaining high standards
- Be a team player, work collaboratively with coworkers, and treat all staff and customers with respect
- Exhibit an eye for detail and quality control to serve a consistently delicious product
- Read and follow recipes and accurately measure ingredients by weight and volume
- Have the stamina to work in a busy, high-volume kitchen
- Have weekend availability, as well as availability the full month of November
- Be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and safely
- Demonstrate a minimum of 1 year of professional pastry experience and food safety practices
