Basketball Referee

Description
O'Falon, Illinois. Officiate at sporting events, games, or competitions, to maintain standards of play as well as sports policies and to ensure that game rules are observed by participants and spectators.? Works directly with the public and is responsible for contributing to a fun and safe environment for friendly competition.

Essential Duties

• Judge performances in sporting competitions in order to award points, impose scoring penalties, and determine results.
• Signal participants or other officials to make them aware of infractions or to otherwise regulate play or competition.
• Inspect sporting equipment and/or examine participants in order to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations.
• Keep track of event times, including race times and elapsed time during game segments, starting or stopping play when necessary.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Running related to the job duties will be necessary

Requires

• 14 years of age
• Reliable way to get to and from work
• Ability to communicate effectively
