Pay Range Information:Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Job Description Summary: This position involves a wide range of planning activities that help guide the physical development of the campus and the utilization of campus space in support of the University’s mission. Campus Planner provides technical planning expertise for a wide range of scales, from campus-wide planning, to space, building and site programming, to strategic capital project planning, to project development for academic research and learning environments. These activities require interaction with campus clients and close collaboration and integration with other administrative departments involved in campus planning and space planning.Campus Planner is responsible for project initiation, including review of alignment with university strategic planning, space programming, and project feasibility, budget, and schedule development. This position assists in the project approvals process, in the pre-design phase of projects, and in project initiation. Campus Planner may carry a select set of smaller projects through all phases to occupancy.
Campus Planner plans and coordinates all tasks, critical dates, campus client relations, performance quality and customer satisfaction, budget and project management, and administration for each assigned project. This role coordinates completion of work by internal teams and third-party service providers such as design firms and consultants. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Campus Planning and Design.
