About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Operating Officer (COO) with a proven track record in the operational management of a personal injury law firm. The successful candidate will serve as the second-in-command to the CEO, overseeing the daily operations of a large, multi-department legal practice with a focus on aggressive growth. This role demands a strategic operator with a hands-on approach, capable of leading and optimizing all aspects of the firm's operations, from intake to client experience. The COO will be responsible for departmental oversight, process and systems leadership, people management, and performance, as well as medical and vendor negotiation. A key aspect of the role is to ensure that the firm meets its KPIs, increases case velocity, and reduces medical spend per case through effective negotiation. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years' experience as a COO or Director of Operations in a personal injury law firm, with a deep understanding of the various operational components within the industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in KPIs, process mapping, and automation tools, and be skilled in medical negotiations and cost control. A high level of emotional intelligence, the ability to manage without micromanaging, and a strong technical understanding of law firm tech stacks are essential. The role requires a leader who is calm under pressure, a direct communicator, and who can hold teams accountable while fostering a positive and engaging work environment. The COO should operate with a CEO-mindset and owner mentality, and be adept at building and leading a high-performing team.
