We are seeking a strategic, employee-focused, performance-driven Chief People Officer to lead our HR function during a critical phase of organizational growth and development. This senior leader will be responsible for designing and implementing talent and workforce planning strategies, enhancing employee experience, driving performance, and building scalable and compliant HR systems and processes aligned with our mission. This role is a key member of the executive leadership team and directly manages a HR generalist, recruiters, payroll and a coordinator to achieve department and company-wide goalsResponsibilities Include :Strategic LeadershipDesign and execute a comprehensive Talent Strategy, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, total rewards, and retention aligned with organizational growth.Champion an engaging and inclusive employee experience, informed by workforce insights and culture-building initiatives.Employee Performance & EngagementLead the development of a performance management framework (goal setting, coaching, feedback, reviews).Partner with leadership to manage employee relations at a strategic and tactical level, ensuring alignment with values and compliance.Use data and KPIs (dashboards / metrics) to assess organizational health and drive people decisions.Compensation & Benefits StrategyDevelop and implement competitive total reward strategies as the organization scales.Advise leadership on compensation trends and support / build future total rewards strategy.Compliance & Process OptimizationMaintain strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws; ensure policies and practices reflect evolving regulations.Optimize and implement tools, systems, and processes including HRIS, payroll, and document management.Coach, mentor, and lead members of the HR team to excel in their respective focus areas (recruiting, employee support, onboarding, etc.).Collaborate cross-functionally align people strategies with business outcomes.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3-5 years in a director or senior manager-level leadership role.Demonstrated success developing and leading HR strategy, talent acquisition, performance management, and employee experience in a fast-paced, growing, mission-driven, or service-based organization.Experience building and scaling HR systems, processes, and infrastructure from early stage to maturity.Industry knowledge in human services, healthcare, behavioral health, or a similar regulated environment is preferred.Required SkillsAn ideal candidate will have proven leadership abilities, be employee-centered and performance-driven, demonstrate excellent judgment and data-driven decision making skills, possess a process improvement mindset, be able to work at both the strategic and tactical levels, collaborate, and be a creative problem-solver.
