Medically Complex/Rehabilitation
Cumberland’s medically complex and rehabilitation services can be a steppingstone between acute hospitalization and discharge home and can treat patients with comorbid behavioral conditions that make their participation in therapy challenging. The patients we can serve typically have ambulatory issues and need a higher level of intervention for ADLs, and medical care. Many of our patients need more nursing care and rehabilitation. Our program also specializes in subacute rehabilitation for patients who have coexisting behavioral or emotional challenges or cognitive deficits. Our team can treat multiple types of diagnoses, such as but not limited to Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), children who have been in car accidents, needing more extensive inpatient rehabilitation services and hypoxic brain injuries.
Chronic Illness
Supports children and adolescents when they are struggling to control their chronic illness. Examples are Diabetes patients who are medically fragile and noncompliant with diet and insulin regimens, Eating Disorders patients with diagnosis such as Anorexia or Bulimia who are medically unstable and can be receiving nourishment through G and NG tubing, Diabulimia, Morbid Obesity, Cystic Fibrosis, Seizure Disorders, Prader-Willi Syndrome, as well as other conditions. We offer specialized and nationally known programs for diabetes management, eating disorders (Eating Support Protocol), weight management (Healthy on Purpose) and extensive rehabilitation services.
