Job Description
The Diesel Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel-powered equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role performs inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and complex mechanical repairs on a variety of vehicle systems. The technician uses company-provided technology to document work and communicates closely with service advisors and shop leadership. A strong focus on quality workmanship, safety, and regulatory compliance is essential.
Responsibilities
· Perform inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance, including DOT inspections
· Repair, replace, and overhaul major systems such as engines, drivetrains, brakes, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and emission systems
· Conduct test drives to verify vehicle performance and make necessary adjustments
· Maintain accurate service and repair records using company systems and tablet documentation
· Communicate repair status, additional findings, and time requirements with service advisors, foreman, and parts personnel
Qualifications and Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of related diesel technician experience
· ASE Certification preferred
· Valid driver’s license
· Strong technical, math, communication, and organizational skills
· Ability to work in loud environments, indoors and outdoors, and in physically demanding conditions, including lifting up to 100 lbs

The base salary range for this position is approximately $52,000–$62,000 annually, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future wage growth.
