Diesel/Hydraulic Service Technician — Deicing Fleet Maintenance

Compensation: $30–$38 per hour

Your impact

• Own local maintenance scheduling and performance to drive equipment dependability.
• Execute skilled maintenance using recognized, proven procedures.
• Leverage manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and related documents to complete assignments correctly the first time.
• Diagnose and correct electrical and hydraulic problems within set timeframes.
• Maintain precise records; carry out scheduled and unscheduled inspections.

What you need to succeed

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum age 18.
• Ability to speak and hear efficiently; fluent in reading, writing, understanding, and verbally directing in English.
• Basic to intermediate computer literacy.
• Strong organization and time management for competing deadlines.
• Knowledge of fluid types, diesel-powered machinery, and tools—from design to use, repair, and maintenance.
• Professional tact with colleagues and client representatives at every level.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Hands-on proficiency with standard/specialty tools and diagnostic test equipment (photo tachometer, diagnostic tools/hardware, scanners, meters).
• Valid driver’s license.

Bring your tools: Personal basic tool kit required (sockets/wrenches) up to 1" in size and up to 1/2" drive.

Where and how you’ll work

• Physically demanding environment with extended standing.
• Exposure to noise (sometimes excessive), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, and fluctuating temperatures/humidity.
• Work around heavy moving equipment.

Physical requirements

• Hand use for handling/feeling tools and controls; reaching; effective speech and hearing.
• Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
• Lift up to 25 pounds.
