Job Description

Freight Broker Dispatch

Candidates must have previous experience as a freight broker to be considered.
  • Pay $28.00 - $30.00 Per hour
  • Shift/hours Monday - Friday, 8am-5:00pm
SUMMARY:

To provide excellent customer service to carriers, customers, vendors and alike via telephone, email and in person. To assist in any and all areas as directed by management which includes but is not limited to: Answer all incoming phone calls assisting with questions pertaining to billing, dispatch, rate quotes, tracking, etc. Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable which includes customer billing and carrier invoices. Process incoming mail and distribute accordingly. Process outgoing mail. Assist management when needed

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/ WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma.

Previous customer service and dispatch experience required. Knowledge of small business functions.

DAILY JOB FUNCTIONS

• Monitor emails throughout the day
• Answer incoming calls
• Obtain rate quotes via phone, email or website
• Negotiate carrier rates
• Work with carriers and customers on shipment movement
• Schedule pick ups
• Onboard and vet new carriers
• Request carrier insurance
• Process AP/AR
• Process incoming mail via postal service
• Scan documents
• Post loads to Load Boards (Internet Truckstop/ DAT)
• Submit carrier dispute charges
• Process damage/loss freight claims
• Process Reconsignments / Redeliveries
• Track pickups and shipments in transit
• Verify rates
• Request older invoices from carriers
• Upload forms, dispatch and BOL's to shipment profile
