Schedule: Full-time

Position Description: Performs assigned investigations of complaints filed with the Office of Civil Rights Enforcement. These investigations are conducted under the statutory authority of the Oklahoma Anti-Discrimination Act. This is not a law enforcement position and CLEET certification is not necessary.

Unit Summary: The Office of Civil Rights Enforcement is dedicated to enforcing Oklahoma's anti-discrimination laws and related federal laws, providing educational resources, and partnering with the public to positively and proactively advance the cause of civil rights for the equal benefit and enjoyment of all Oklahomans.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and investigate complaints as assigned, including but not limited to gathering, reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing evidence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the relevant stakeholders in assigned matters, inclusive of providing quarterly status updates to parties in assigned matters and providing appropriate accommodation to people involved in complaints.
  • Prepare Charges of Discrimination, Interview Reports, Rebuttals, Requests for Information, Final Investigative Reports and other relevant documents needed for assigned matters.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other OCRE team members.
  • Interview parties and witnesses related to complaints and prepare appropriate summaries/impressions.
  • Participate and provide support for the OCRE's outreach events.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Attorney General's Office as well as the confidentiality of information as required by the Attorney General.
  • Ability to provide sound judgment, as well as exhibit excellent report writing skills.

Prepare and provide testimony in courtroom and other legal settings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze information, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions
  • Possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license

Preference will be given to individuals with:

  • A bachelor's degree
  • At least two years of experience in one of the following career fields: investigations, human resources, ethics and compliance, equal employment opportunity, fair housing, and other antidiscrimination laws
