Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial electrical work, demonstrating proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Duties

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial and industrial settings.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment such as multi-meters to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Perform electrical installations and maintenance as required.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, including those skilled in fire sprinkler, carpentry, HVAC and maintenance person tasks, to complete projects efficiently.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state and NFAA 70 (NEC) codes and safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or necessary repairs.

Skills

• Proficient in the use of hand tools for building and electrical work.
• Strong understanding of commercial electrician practices as well as industrial electrician standards.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints accurately.
• Experience working with high voltage systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and compliance.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across various trades.
• Extremely organized with strong attention to detail with paperwork and direction.
