Materials Manager | Grand Haven, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Develop and implement material planning strategies to support production schedules.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure efficient material flow.
• Oversee supplier performance and relationships to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Implement and maintain material management systems (e.g., ERP/MRP) for accurate tracking.
• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities related to materials and logistics.
• Lead and develop the materials planning and inventory control teams.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related engineering field.
• Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory management, procurement, and production planning.
• Proven expertise in inventory control, forecasting, and optimization methodologies (e.g., JIT, MRP II).
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with a track record of managing teams and supplier relationships.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• APICS CSCP or CPIM certification.
• Experience with advanced data analytics or business intelligence tools.
• Demonstrated experience in international sourcing and global logistics.
• Project management experience for ERP implementations or supply chain optimization initiatives.
