In this position, you will manage the purchasing, inventory management, and shipping logistics to support production of customer projects

Gerhart is looking for a knowledgeable Purchasing Associate to join our team based in Tatamy, PA.

Main Responsibilities

• Purchasing of project/job-based material requirements based on requests from project team members.

• • Includes but not limited to: Obtaining vendor quotes, purchase order data entry, order updates, communication with project leads to promote efficiency.

• Manage project-based tracking of purchased materials, material receiving, and organization of materials.
• Manage part inventory locations, organization and evaluating inventory levels to purchase materials as needed to support production
• Receiving Incoming Material, processing paperwork, organize unloading/delivery of packages, and incoming inspection
• Manages material non-conforming and return process with vendors
• Shipping outgoing Gerhart Systems finished products

• • Prepare packing lists and organize shipments for projects
  • Scheduling shipments with logistics partners
  • Track and update status of incoming and outgoing shipments

• Maintains a clean, neat, and organized shipping and receiving area

Qualifications:

• Be able to safely lift up to 50lbs
• Physically active with ability to bend, stretch, reach for items, move boxes throughout the facility
• Ability to obtain forklift qualification
• Good communications skills both written and verbal
• Strong sense of time management, organization, and urgency
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks as needed
• Self-starter and motivated to work independently
• Well qualified applicants to have 2+ years experience in a similar profession
• Has basic computer skills including Excel, Word, and order entry systems.
