Salary: 75K - 100K plus bonus

Next Step Innovation is seeking a Network Engineer to become an integral part of our team. You will be responsible for maintaining computer and information network environments for our key clients. You will work remotely from home as well as spend 50% or more of your time onsite assisting with our client's needs. This candidate has previous experience in networking, IT consulting, or other related fields. Our ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skill as well as attention to detail.
Customer Focused:

• Well spoken and organized - Experienced with customer communication and expectations
• Comfortable in exploring and documenting new customer environments
• Experienced with network troubleshooting - from layer1 cabling, L2 sub-netting/VLANs, to L3 as well as wireless
• Familiarity with WLAN/LAN security best practices - 802.1x, TLS
• Familiarity with large campus networks

Internal Responsibilities:

• Maintaining organized tasks lists and updating ticketing software
• Familiar with project management stages
• Continued education - both informal as well as attending lead technical training
• Obtain new certifications
• Change management detail
• Maintaining integrity in accessing customer infrastructure

Engineering Qualifications:

• 3+ years of in-depth LAN - Configuration - Troubleshooting - Maintenance
• 3+ years of hands-on WLAN engineering
• Implement local area networks (LAN)
• Upkeep and troubleshooting of WLAN physical (RF,attenuation) and logical infrastructure
• Deploy test plans to check infrastructure and system performance
• Implementation and troubleshooting of dynamic routing: OSPF and BGP
• Proficient with Layer 2 technologies - VLAN, STP, LLDP, QoS
• Comfortable with key networking troubleshooting tools - Solarwinds, PRTG, Ekahau
• Basic Systems and Virtualization Skills are Preferred
• Basic Storage Skills are Preferred

Preferred Certifications (Manufacture Experience):

• Aruba networking experience - Required
• Aruba Professional certifications - required
• ClearPass experience - Preferred
• Juniper networking experience - Preferred
• Cisco networking experience - Preferred
• Cisco certifications CCNA/CCNP - Preferred
• Fortinet experience - Desired
• Palo Alto experience - Desired
• AWS/Azure experience - Desired
