Salary: $22.22 Hourly Location : Talkeetna, AK Job Type: Temporary 6 Month Job Number: 2025-00110 Department: Community Development Division: Park and Outdoor Recreation Opening Date: 07/08/2025 Job Summary This position assists in the maintenance of Borough parks, trailheads, and lake accesses. Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Borough core values: Accountability, Customer Focus, Dedication, Integrity, Responsiveness and Teamwork. This is a temporary position not to exceed 6 months from date of hire. Pay Grade

E1 - DOE

Minimum Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. One year of experience in a similar position, sufficient to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position. Relevant experience may include customer service skills, janitorial skills, basic organization skills, general labor, ability to multitask, ability to enforce parking and camping fees and the rules/regulations of the area. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical. Duties/Responsibilities Collects parking fees and/or camping fees, processes credit cards, balances daily receipts and funds, and prepares deposits. Cleans restrooms at trailheads; operates a pressure washer; removes graffiti. Collects trash at trailheads; reports unauthorized vehicles and vandalism. Assists in the building and maintenance of trails. Downloads trail data and uploads into database system. Removes snow at trailheads. Assists the trails maintenance section in meeting project deadlines. Makes facility repairs as required. Performs related duties. Temporary and Thousand Hour (1000) employees for the Mat-Su Borough do not receive a benefits package. Following is a brief description of the only benefit provided to this class of employee. Alaska Supplemental Benefits System: The Supplemental Benefits System (SBS) is in lieu of Social Security and is mandatory.
