Job Description
Field Technician - Physical Security, with direction from the Director of Implementation Services, will independently or with a team member, perform installation and maintenance of access control equipment including electrified door hardware, security cameras, and alarm systems including access control panels, motion sensors, duress buttons and keypads. Install wire paths, conduct wire pulls and terminations for existing and new access control security camera and intercoms. Field Technician may also respond to help-desk inbound calls when not in the field.
The Physical Security Field Technician must possess:
Reliability and a passion for getting the job done right, solid problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, strong communication skills, good task management, and effective customer service skills. Creativity, initiative, and problem solving are important to the success of the position and Team.
They must be willing to work as part of a Team to complete projects in a timely and aesthetically clean manner as provided on the design or customer request.
Duties for the Field Technician - Physical Security will include:
· Installing alarm, intercom, IP camera and access control equipment, door hardware and locks, and diagnosing and repairing problems.
· Ensure that systems are configured correctly and are running efficiently.
· Install a variety of cable and wiring systems above ceilings, below floors, inside walls, and outdoors as designed.
· Assist with training on new hardware and software when needed.
· Work with manufacturers on the expansion and maintenance of security, intercom, IP camera and access control infrastructure as needed
Requirements for the position include:
· Minimum one-year door access control experience, software and hardware
· Ability to travel within the State of Florida consistent with project demands.
· Clean State of Florida Driver’s License (insurance purposes to drive company vehicles)
· Ability to pass a random drug test
· Ability to pass a background check to work with Florida Schools and Police Departments
· Ability to work extended hours.
· Able to climb ladders (fork lift certification helpful) and carry boxes of equipment.
· Ability to read blueprints and determine materials and resources needed to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
· Working knowledge of basic IT Network design, routing and switching
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per hour
