Physician Reviewer | Remote | Contract


Walker Healthforce is seeking a Physician Reviewer for a healthcare client located remotely. This is a contract position.


START DATE: ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Review and evaluate clinical service requests from members and providers using clinical judgment and organizational criteria.
• Identify opportunities for proactive care management and problem-solving for members.
• Collaborate with case managers to anticipate and address future clinical concerns.
• Participate in appeal processes for service denials.
• Contribute to the development of unit policies and procedures and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Medical Director.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Board Certified (ABMS) M.D. or D.O, unrestricted and active license to practice medicine
• 5 years clinical experience to include inpatient experience
• Knowledge of managed care practices and utilization review
• Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook etc.)
