Principal GaN Product Engineer
Job Title: Principal GaN Product Engineer
Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Compensation: $160K - $220K base plus bonus and RSUs
Requirements: GaN Product Engineering, NPI, Wide-Bandgap Devices, Project/Program Management, Yield Analysis, Reliability & Qualification
Position Overview The Principal GaN Product Engineer will lead the development and optimization of Gallium Nitride (GaN) products, focusing on New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensuring the reliability and performance of wide-bandgap devices. This role requires collaboration across multiple disciplines to drive product development from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the design and development of GaN products, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Conduct reliability testing and yield analysis to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
- Utilize expertise in SiC and wide-bandgap devices to enhance product offerings and technology roadmaps.
- Develop and implement project management strategies to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle management.
GaN & SiC project management
- Track project schedules using Smartsheet
- Track NPI fab lots status
- Track NPI build status
- Work with marketing team & PE & device team to manage NPI gates
- Work with PE & AE teams to ensure datasheets are completed on time
- Responsible for ensuring projects stays on track
- Work with package R&D team for bonding diagrams & package support
Manage qualification activity for GaN products
- Work with reliability engineer to define qualification methodology
- Manage wafers for qualification
- Manage lot start requests for NPI
- Host weekly GaN project management calls
- Yield analysis & tracking
- Establish PAT/GDBN
- Establish SYL/SBL
- Generate CP & FT reports for engineering & qual lots
- Define CP, FT, QC test plans
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field; Master's or PhD preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in product engineering with a focus on GaN technology.
- Strong knowledge of NPI processes in the semiconductor industry.
- Experience with wide-bandgap devices (GaN and/or SiC).
- Proven project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical skills in reliability and yield analysis.
