Overview: 

Wellness Embodied is an outpatient, trauma-focused, spiritually grounded psychotherapy group, and wellness center in New Paltz, NY rooted in a social justice and trauma informed framework, that focuses on the healthy functioning of the organization as a platform for the transformative healing work that happens in the treatment room. We intend to be a safe space for all queer, racial, gendered, ability, religious and age groups to find both affirming care and practioners that deeply understand, witness, and reflect your experiences as well. The clinicians that thrive in this environment have an ongoing desire and commitment to learn and grow intellectually and personally in the therapeutic field. Training in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, AEDP and other trauma modalities are a plus.

The position of Outpatient Psychotherapist asks the clinician to have a full-time caseload of clients each week. In addition to skills in individual therapy, the qualified candidate will be fluent in discussing race, gender identity and other areas of marginalization, as well as being versed in trauma modalities such as Somatic Experiencing or EMDR, play therapy, CBT and family work. The therapist is also expected to work collaboratively with our engaged and lively team of therapists, and provide clear, clinical documentation in a timely manner. This position is supported and supervised by the clinic director and other clinical supervisors in the practice-

Primary responsibilities include:

• Provide weekly couple, family, and individual therapy sessions to active caseload of clients.
• Provide an estimate of 6 sessions per day, with a requirement of at least 26-32 sessions per week.
• Maintain up-to-date, timely, electronic chart records that include treatment plans and session notes.
• Must be able to conduct tele-therapy as well as in person sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

• Applicants must have extensive clinical experience.
• Must hold a current and valid license to practice mental health independently in the state of New York such as LCSW, LMFT, LMHC.
• Should be well versed in issues related to race, gender identity and other areas of marginalization.
• Knowledge and application of trauma modalities and theories, as well as play therapy.
• Highly organized with strong attention to details.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Google Suits, and familiarity with electronic health records.

Work Environment: 

Our building is in New Paltz, NY on Main Street. It is a lovely, quiet and comfortable environment. Office space is available for all clinicians. 

Compensation: 

• All employees of Wellness Embodied are W2 employees, that get paid on a bi-weekly basis. Payment is as an hourly rate per session. Details will be described in the interview process.
• Eligible full-time employees may also receive health insurance, largely subsidized by Wellness Embodied.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time 

Pay: $40.00 - $130.00 per hour depending on experience and client payment type

Education: 

• Masters degree and licensure, Must hold a current and valid license to practice mental health independently in the state of New York such as LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or licensed psychologist.

Experience: 

• over 2 years post graduate experience preferred but not necessary
