Job Description

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO invites applications for a full-time intern on our Regulatory Affairs team.

This intern will support the NYISO's Government Affairs outreach strategy. This intern will support federal and state legislative and regulatory proceedings tracking and reporting, work with the team to track third-party activities that may influence policy makers, and support outreach strategy development efforts. This individual will work with the team to develop communication tools and products intended to amplify key messages in support of the department's outreach strategy.

Qualifications include:

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate program focused in Public Affairs, Political Science, History, Economics, Communications, or related field of study.
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Strong interest in legislative and regulatory proceedings, practices, and roles
