Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Reservoir Engineer in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Rockies Business Unit based in Denver, Colorado.

The Reservoir Engineer will work on the DJ Basin Subsurface Characterization Team. The candidate will support the development and reserves teams with the development of the DJ Basin Asset. Primary responsibilities will be characterizing opportunities, optimizing development, and generating new resource prospects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze geological and engineering data to optimize field development plans.
  • Undertake comprehensive data analysis for reserve bookings and subsurface characterization including machine learning and statistical methods such as clustering and regression analysis.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations for collaborating with stakeholders and making technical recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for processing well inventory detail and metrics.
  • Integrate various reservoir studies including geo-modelling, reservoir modelling, geochemistry, PVT, petrophysics, production performance, pressure transient tests, and other data in planning future development. Recommend special data requirements and evaluation techniques.
  • Create design of experiments for production enhancements and infill opportunities.
  • Support simulation studies for field optimization and new opportunities.

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required, with Petroleum Engineering being preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-years reservoir engineering experience.
  • High level of dependability, dedication, initiative, energy, creativity, interpersonal skills, adaptability, and an ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Significant data analytics experience including Python and Spotfire/Power BI.
  • Solid understanding of reservoir engineering fundamentals.
  • Skilled at working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience working in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal & written).
  • Ability to efficiently learn and adapt to new skills and workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Simulation experience required.

Salary Range: $116,800 - $160,600

Discretionary Bonus: 0-50%
