Are you an experienced Animal Research Technician with a background in preclinical pharmacology and in vivo research? We're looking for a Senior Animal Research Technician for a 6-month contract role in Birmingham, Alabama, to support cutting-edge drug discovery and development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Conduct in vivo pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) studies using rodent models.
🔹 Perform small animal surgical procedures, including bleeding, microsurgery, necropsy, and inoculation biopsies.
🔹 Execute drug dosing, blood sampling, and bioanalytical sample collection following GLP and SOP guidelines.
🔹 Collaborate closely with drug discovery, chemistry, and bioanalytical teams to evaluate new drug candidates.
🔹 Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and animal welfare regulations.
🔹 Maintain lab cleanliness, perform quality checks, and oversee inventory management for the animal facility.
🔹 Train new employees in proper laboratory techniques and research protocols.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience :
4–6 years in animal research, pharmacology, or drug development with expertise in rodent models.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Animal Science, or a related field OR an Animal Technician certification with equivalent experience.
