GENERAL FUNCTION
This senior role within Walman Information Services installs, configures, monitors & maintains systems (virtual environments, operating systems, application software & management tools) ensuring high levels of availability & security. Effective management of infrastructure resources, security risks & day-to-day operations is a primary focus while also providing technical expertise for infrastructure & security technology throughout the group.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Function as a technical subject matter expert for the evaluation & implementation of technology & security solutions
Implement & maintain infrastructure solutions that are consistent with the technology roadmap, e.g., public/private/hybrid virtual datacenter (VM, servers/memory/storage, backup), remote access (FortiClient VPN, multi-factor authentication), server/endpoint protection (EDR, RMM, patching), user data protection & single sign-on
Implement, configure & manage Microsoft 365 & Azure
Define, manage & report on service levels for infrastructure technology & services, (e.g., availability, capacity, performance, patching status), resolve service level issues
Assess infrastructure for vulnerabilities, capacity constraints, cost reductions & upgrade opportunities using best practices, vendor management & technology lifecycle awareness
Support IS Helpdesk by providing Level 2-3 support for designated systems
Foster a working environment that promotes innovation, teamwork, & commitment
Understand & support security policies & procedures; act as a liaison to effectively communicate security goals & create security awareness throughout the group
Maintain current knowledge of technology trends & advancements to identify technology initiatives
Co-lead team that defines, documents & tests the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plan & responses to disaster/availability events, security audits, vulnerability & threat assessments & data, network or system intrusions
Provide on-call after-hours support as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Four-year college degree, or equivalent experience, & five years of experience as an enterprise-level systems engineer supporting infrastructure & security design, implementation & operations
Extensive enterprise physical, virtual & cloud infrastructure design, implementation & capacity planning experience encompassing vendor/product selection, public/private/hybrid virtual datacenter, MS365/Active Directory/DNS, data protection/backup
Ability to monitor & assess infrastructure for vulnerabilities, upgrades & improvements using best practices & advanced tools (e.g., centralized logging, performance monitoring, incident management) & lifecycle awareness
Enterprise security implementation experience including vendor/product selection, remote access (VPN, multi-factor authentication), server/endpoint protection (EDR, AV & firewall), mobile device management & data protection
Experience defining, documenting & testing Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plans & leading response teams for disaster/availability events, vulnerability & threat assessments & data, network or system intrusions
Strong written & verbal communications skills
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
