Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking experienced professionals skilled as Sign Language Interpreters and American Sign Language Teachers for full-time, onsite positions in Brewton, AL. These contract roles involve working within educational settings to support students across multiple schools.

Position Details:

• Two openings available:
  • Opening 1: Sign Language Interpreter or ASL Teacher serving K-12 students across three schools.
  • Opening 2: Sign Language Interpreter or ASL Teacher serving K-4 students at one school.
• Full-time mitments, onsite presence is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation or instruction to enhance munication and learning for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to implement appropriate support strategies aligned with students individual needs.
• Participate in developing and adapting curriculum and lesson plans tailored to students' language requirements.
• Maintain professional standards and confidentiality in all student interactions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language and certified interpreter or teaching credentials preferred.
• Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings.
• Excellent munication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work full-time onsite and navigate between multiple school sites (for first opening).
