Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Location: Huntsville, ALDuration: Contract, Current School Year (CSY)

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide effective munication support in a K-12 school setting. This contract position, based in Huntsville, AL, involves facilitating clear and accurate interpretation between hearing-impaired students, staff, and parents to ensure equitable access to education.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken and signed munication between students, teachers, and other school personnel during classes, meetings, and events.
• Facilitate munication that promotes understanding and learning for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to support student acmodations.
• Adapt interpreting techniques according to the age and academic level of students.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills.
• Experience working in educational settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of K-12 classroom dynamics and terminology.
• Ability to maintain professional, clear, and accurate interpretation under varying circumstances.
