Skilled Trade - Tool & Diemaker

Nexteer Automotive Saginaw, Michigan Operations is soliciting candidates for Tool & Diemaker positions.

Applicants must have and be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• Must be Safety oriented individual - overriding priority
• Self-starting team-oriented individuals with good technical and people skills
• Must be willing to coach/mentor fellow employees
• To qualify you must have one of the following:
  
  
  • Journeyman's card
  • Completed a Department of Labor - Certified Program
  • Experience as a Tool & Diemaker, preferably 8 years
• Responsibilities:
  
  
  • Read blueprints to perform die repair and fabricate any parts in toolroom
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimension & Tolerances
    
    
    • Work with close tolerances
  • Must have own tools and toolbox
  • Set up and teardown fixtures on lathes and mills
  • Set up and teardown dies on presses
  • CNC Programming Lathes & Mills
• Ability to:
  
  
  • Operate tool room equipment including, but not limited to mills, tool lathe, surface grinder, band saw, CNC Axis Machines
• Experience rigging using chains, slings and chokers from overhead cranes
