Position Summary

We are seeking a Snowmaking Manager to lead our snowmaking department. In this pivotal role, you will oversee on-hill staff and the control room, managing a team that includes 2 supervisors and 8 shift leaders. Your mission? To deliver the highest quality of snow and an exceptional guest experience. This is a full-time, year-round salaried position.

Your Responsibilities

• Strategically plan programs to ensure maximum snow production and quality assurance.
• Troubleshoot equipment system problems and diagnose repairs.
• Design and plan snowmaking infrastructure, both new and retrofit.
• Oversee departmental training and development.
• Manage supervisory responsibilities including work planning, training, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure operational readiness through proper staffing, training, and equipment deployment.
• Track operational costs, particularly energy consumption and performance.
• Assist in planning future snowmaking expansions and designs.
• Manage repairs and preventive maintenance of the snowmaking system.
• Ensure consistent snow quality across all trails.

Qualifications

• Previous snowmaking experience is a must.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; BA or BS preferred.
• Technical training in mechanics, engineering, or a related field, plus 4-6 years of relevant experience.
• Supervisory experience is essential.
• Broad mechanical and heavy construction knowledge relevant to snowmaking.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
• Strong planning, administrative, and supervisory skills.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
• Must be able to work long hours outdoors, including overnight shifts, and be exposed to the elements.
• Physical ability to operate equipment and lift 50-100 lbs.
• Effective communication skills with supervisors and teammates.
• Experience with ATVs/snowmobiles is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
• Timely and reliable attendance is essential.
