Job Description

A Special Education Teacher position is available to support elementary school students in Sandia Park, NM. This contract role spans the full school year (CSY) and focuses on delivering individualized educational programs to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique learning requirements
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress
• Monitor and evaluate student performance through assessments and observations
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and growth
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and comply with all state and federal regulations

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with elementary-level students with special needs
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Patience, adaptability, and dedication to student success
