Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-semester contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in an Autism classroom at an elementary school in Atlanta, GA. This role involves managing an elementary caseload and collaborating with paraprofessionals to deliver tailored educational experiences for students with special needs. The position requires full-time commitment, working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement adapted curricula tailored for students with autism and other special needs
  • Manage an elementary-level caseload with individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals in the classroom to support student learning and behavioral goals
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational standards
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and administration regarding student development and needs

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification in adapted curriculum (mandatory)
  • Experience working in special education, preferably with students on the autism spectrum
  • Strong knowledge of behavior management strategies and individualized instructional techniques
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with paraprofessionals
