Job Description

A K-12 Special Education Teacher position is available for the upcoming school year in Ecorse, MI. This role involves delivering tailored instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a contract capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Adapt lessons and materials to meet the unique learning styles of each student
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments
• Monitor and document student progress and update educational plans accordingly
• Maintain classroom management and foster a positive, supportive atmosphere

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development and compliance with state and federal regulations
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school personnel
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
