Job Description

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time Trade Marketing Sales Intern located at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD. The Trade Marketing Sales Intern will work closely with the Trade Marketing Team , which is a critical function of our North American Consumer Products Division Sales Team . This is a 10-week internship (June 2 - August 8, 2025) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

 

Our 10-week Summer Internship Program in Hunt Valley, MD allows college students to get a glimpse into what it is like to be a part of the McCormick family - rich in flavor, culture, and employee empowerment.  

 

During your time as an Intern, you will sharpen your leadership skills, work on real-world challenges, and collaborate with the best leaders in the industry. You will have the opportunity to network with executives, participate in social events with other interns, and give back to the community. Trade Marketing at McCormick & Co. operates as a component of the Sales Team in the Consumer Product Division. Its role involves aiding in creating and implementing the strategy for taking our products to market, focusing on brand, shopper, and category projects. As a leader across spices, seasonings, condiments and more, we are responsible for providing thought leadership to internal and external stakeholders, including field sales and marketing teams with customer-facing analysis and related forecasts. Through this internship, you will get exposure to business-critical projects, data analysis and strategy development, and personal and team leadership opportunities, while collaborating with a wide variety of cross functional partners within sales and marketing. A successful candidate will have a natural curiosity, willingness to learn, and the ability to engage and influence a diverse group of colleagues - all to drive positive business results.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Trade Marketing Sales Intern will work on a real and current business challenges, identifying brand and market trends and turn their findings into an actionable business recommendation. Candidates should have the desire to learn various skills associated with Sales and be flexible and open to all assignments.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide analysis and shopper insight-driven recommendations supporting our annual business plans, using all key-business drivers: merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving (MAPS)
  • Leverage all available analytic tools to develop trade strategies, maximizing McCormick’s performance metric
  • Other projects as assigned

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a target graduation date between December 2026 and May 2027
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a Business, Marketing, Communications, Analytics, or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze, and validate complex information to develop strategies
  • Ability to work independently, learn new tasks, solve problems, and show strong self-motivation and initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) at all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Ability to potentially travel overnight on a few occasions

 

Based Hourly Range: $20/hr. - $25/hr

 

Base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
