Our team is looking for a talented Web Accessibility Engineer to support our client's online store engineering team.
THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
In your day-to-day work, you will be embedded in project team work. You will be involved in design reviews, setting engineering requirements, implementing accessibility engineering solutions, and light QA validation. You will collaborate closely with project managers, designers, quality testers, and development teams.
A significant portion of your time will involve working closely with designers and engineers to ensure accessibility requirements are met. This will include suggesting design changes and coding engineering solutions yourself.
Your expertise will be essential in upholding the company's core value of accessibility and inclusion, and to help mitigate legal risks.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our client's ongoing efforts to make their e-commerce website accessible to everyone. If you are passionate about accessibility, have a background in software development, and thrive in collaborative environments, this could be a great role for you.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
4+ years of front-end web development experience with proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Experience providing feedback on UI designs
Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting inaccessible code Strong familiarity with WCAG
Strong familiarity with ARIA
Experience validating accessibility of web experiences with automated tool Experience validating accessibility of web experiences with assistive technology or accessibility features
Nice to Have: Experience working with React
