Overview of the Role

We are looking for an organized and dependable Inventory Specialist to execute daily cycle counts, address inventory discrepancies, and coordinate with the manufacturing and shipping teams to prevent and resolve inventory issues. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid math skills, and be highly accurate in their work.

In this role, you'll manage activities tied to the ordering, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials and products, maintain accurate records, and conduct regular inventory checks. As an Inventory Specialist, you'll help improve existing processes, work closely with leadership, and occasionally handle tasks that require heavy lifting. Strong communication skills, familiarity with basic computer programs, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. Prior experience in inventory management, especially in a manufacturing environment, is preferred.

Key Duties

  • Inventory Oversight: Maintain consistent and accurate records of inventory stock and storage.
  • Daily Records: Log goods received and shipments, ensuring accuracy.
  • System Upkeep: Oversee inventory software and systems, initiating upgrades when needed under management's guidance.
  • Delegation and Task Management: Delegate tasks effectively and balance team workload as necessary.
  • Cross-Department Communication: Actively coordinate with other departments to streamline operations.
  • Inventory Operations Management: Manage the ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, supplies, and products.
  • Spot Checks and Audits: Conduct spot checks and regular physical inventory audits.
  • Annual Physical Audits: Support at least one annual physical inventory audit process.
  • Inventory Forecasting: Anticipate inventory needs based on trends and past data.
  • Staff Training: Provide guidance and training to new or less experienced inventory team members.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift safely as needed for inventory movement.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Handle other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements and Competencies

  • Experience: At least one year of experience with inventory in a manufacturing setting.
  • Forklift Certification: Valid driver's license and experience with forklift operation.
  • Computer Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of word processing, databases, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Math Ability: Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Project Coordination: Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Inventory Management Skills: Understanding of inventory control methods and procedures.
  • Quality Awareness: Good knowledge of quality control principles.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and address issues.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Effective interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration.
  • Adaptability: Openness to learning new tasks and adopting new procedures.

Physical Demands

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods (9-hour shifts).
  • Repetitive Motions: Frequently perform actions such as grasping, reaching, twisting, and pivoting.
  • Lifting Requirements: Must occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual Requirements: Capable of reading instructions and inspecting inventory items.
  • Arm Mobility: Regularly stretch and reach using both hands and arms.
  • Work Environment: Moderate noise level.

Work Hours

Friday through Monday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Compensation: $19/hr
