Seeking yacht crew member for classic 60 ft sailing yacht. Duties will include day-to-day maintenance, assisting with deliveries from port to port, crewing during day sailing excursions, as well as reggattas.
Crew will be expected to help with other tasks as needed, such as food preparation and transport, shuttling passengers and guests around ports, and spring commissioning, rigging, painting, and bright work, as well as decommissioning work in the fall.
Job is very physical. Therefore, applicants will need to be in good physical condition, able to lift heavy sails and winter covers. Must also be strong enough to operate winches and other sail handling gear. Must be able to handle ground tackle (anchor, chain, rode) as well.
Scheduling varies from week to week. Applicants will need to be flexible regarding work days and hours. A full workday can range from 4-12 hours, and sometimes more.
Applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of sailing experience on boats at least 40 feet long. First aid training and a merchant marine license are also a plus. Salary is based on experience.
