This leader will drive supplier execution performance, align sourcing timelines with project milestones, and ensure delivery to cost, quality, and schedule commitments. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of project discipline, procurement rigor, and cross-functional alignment to support our fast-paced, customer-driven environment. This leader will coach and develop the Project Sourcing team while working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure a seamless supply chain from award to installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Execution: Ensure suppliers are selected, onboarded, and held accountable to meet project needs including lead time, cost targets, quality, and logistics requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the sourcing interface into the broader organization for project execution. Resolve supplier risks, support change orders, and coordinate delivery planning with field teams and logistics.
  • Cost and Cash Performance: Execute sourcing levers such as competitive bidding, payment term negotiation, and supplier return incentives to improve project margins and working capital.
  • Standard Work: Champion consistent sourcing processes and tools (e.g., project kickoffs, BOM validation, quote tracking, PO release) to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Supplier Escalation and Mitigation: Lead recovery efforts when supplier issues threaten project outcomes. Ensure issues are escalated quickly and resolved with urgency.
  • Coaching and Development: Develop talent within the project sourcing team, ensuring strong project management acumen and sourcing fundamentals across all levels.
  • Continuous Improvement: Embrace lean thinking to reduce waste, simplify handoffs, and improve first-time-right execution across the sourcing lifecycle.
  • System Utilization: Ensure the effective use of ERP systems, sourcing trackers, and analytics to manage performance, enable visibility, and identify improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or project management in an engineered system business, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycles and how procurement impacts schedule, scope, and cost.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier performance under tight timelines and dynamic conditions.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, sourcing analytics, and procurement standard work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence across functions.
