Records Technician - SMILE STRAIGHT ORTHODONTICS - TUPELO

The Opportunity:

As a Back Office Records Technician, you’ll play a key role in setting patients up for success. You’ll be responsible for capturing, editing, and uploading new patient records with diagnostic accuracy. During downtime, you’ll help keep our clinic running smoothly by processing sterile instruments, turning over chairs, and welcoming patients to their appointments.


Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Fulfill record requests within the designated time frames established by state laws across all Kids Dental Brands locations
  • Utilize various communication methods such as mail, email, or fax to send record requests promptly and accurately
  • Respond to subpoenas in a timely and compliant manner, ensuring accurate and lawful provision of requested information
  • Coordinate and arrange for notary services as needed for document validation and authentication.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA privacy laws and protocols to safeguard sensitive health information
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive information
  • Familiarity with notary procedures and document authentication is a plus
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned within the realm of record management and legal compliance

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Applicant must hold a current state-issued Dental Radiology License
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of state laws and regulations governing record management and privacy, particularly HIPAA
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with internal stakeholders and external entities.

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Pay: Starting at $15
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Job Type: Full-time
