Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Manufacturing Software Systems (MSS) is seeking an exceptional Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM) to drive complex technical initiatives and deliver software services and tools that enable standardized and automated testing of satellites throughout the manufacturing process. The Sr. TPM will engage with software, hardware, manufacturing, operations, networking, supply chain, launch, compliance and security teams collaborating, ideating, developing and driving adoption of software solutions. This is a highly technical role requiring experience with integrated hardware and software development as well as appreciation for complex applications. The Sr.TPM will drive thoughtful discussions to align business and technical stakeholder needs, including partnering closely with 3rd party contract manufacturing technical teams to understand and address their manufacturing pain-points, ensuring crisp decision-making and effective solutions.

This is an on-site role that requires employees to work from the company's office 5 days per week. Remote work is not an option for this position.

Key job responsibilities
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware/software engineering, product management, and business development to define and execute technical strategies.
2. Serve as a key liaison between manufacturing floor and the software development team - gathering requirements, identifying opportunities, and championing solutions that address manufacturing pain-points while ensuring stakeholder alignment.
3. Champion the critical importance of standardized and automated manufacturing testing by driving comprehensive adoption of MSS testing solutions across all satellite components and across all manufacturing stages.
4. Establish and maintain robust program management processes to track goals, milestones, and KPIs, ensuring alignment with Kuiper's strategic objectives.
5. Collaborate with Leadership to author Monthly Business Review (MBR), and other rhythm of business updates.

A day in the life
This role will be highly collaborative, requiring partnerships with cross-functional leaders to drive positive results. In this role, you will own implementation and driving adoption of manufacturing software systems in assembly, calibration and test of satellite. You will collaborate with teams from manufacturing engineering, product engineering, and security engineering to identify requirements and design manufacturing software. You will partner with contract manufacturers to standardize the manufacturing test processes, data sharing.

The Kuiper Manufacturing Software Systems (MSS) team builds comprehensive software solutions, test frameworks, information systems and manufacturing test stations that power manufacturing test operations as satellites are produced. Working closely with hardware, software, and test engineering teams, MSS delivers the tools and frameworks that enable consistent test operations - from fabrication to final provisioning - across internal facilities and external contract manufacturers. The team's mission is to transform Kuiper manufacturing into a repeatable, highly available, and controlled process by standardizing, automating and simplifying manufacturing test development and execution, while maintaining rigorous security and compliance standards both at internal facilities and global contract manufacturing sites.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
